On March 15 the judge of the Supreme Court Anda Briede starts to execute duties of senator in the Department of Civil Cases of the Senate, and the judge Intars Bisters stars work in the Chamber of Civil Cases.

General session of senators of the Department of Civil Cases of the Senate approved Anda Briede for the post of the senator already on February 25, but she had to continue work in the Chamber until new judge had started to work.

Saeima approved ex-judge of Zemgales regional court Intars Bisters for the post of the judge of the Supreme Court on February 18, but judge starts his work today. By the resolution of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court he is directed to execute duties of the judge in the Chamber of Civil Cases.

Anda Briede has become the judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court in 2005, before that she was the judge in Riga regional court and in the court of Ziemelu district of Riga city. Anda Briede started her career, having worked as a secretary of court hearings in the court of Latgales district of Riga city for ten years. In 1989 she graduated Faculty of Law of University of Latvia and became a specialist in field of law, but in 2001 she gained master degree of social sciences at the Faculty of Law.

Intars Bisters was born in 1974. He got higher education and qualification of lawyer in Latvian Police Academy, now he studies for Master of Law in Business High School “Turiba”. He has worked in judicial system since 1998. I. Bisters was the judge of the court of Central district of Riga city and Riga regional court, and since 2007 he has been the judge in Judicial Panel of Civil Cases of Zemgales regional court.
