Today, on September 27, the first group of lawyers-to-be from Riga Stradina University visited the Supreme Court.

“I hope that in the future we will meet as colleagues”, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court greeted students in court room of the Senate. The Chief Justice told students about himself and his post, about the court system of Latvia and work of the Supreme Court.

“We are open for cooperation with students, here students receive information necessary to write a report or term papers, the Court is also the place of practice of students”, I. Bickovics said, while saying good-bye to students.

Students also visited the museum of the Supreme Court, in which the Head of the Division of Communication Rasma Zvejniece acquainted them with the history of the Supreme Court. Students were invited to come here and use materials necessary for studies.

Having visited the court room of the Chamber of Criminal Cases, students had an opportunity to feel themselves as judges and sit in judge’s chair. Students also observed the room of meetings of the Cabinet, which is a historical room of the Latvia’s Senate and the sculpture “Justice”, created by the sculptor Karlis Zemdega.
