Passes to the Supreme Court May Be Ordered Over the Telephone

Any member of the public who wishes to attend the proceedings at the Supreme Court’s Senate, or its Chamber of Civil Cases, but who is not a party to such proceedings, may attend such proceedings by requesting a single entry pass at the office of passes located at the basement level of the Supreme Court, entrance from Elizabetes street.

Passes may be requested by using the internal telephone located in the foyer of the building. Please dial 139 to reach the clerk of the Chamber of Civil Cases and 731, 531, 730 to reach the clerk of the Senate. The clerk’s office hours are from 8:30 to 12:00 and from 12:30 to 17:00 in all weekdays except Fridays when the clerk’s offices are open until 16:00.

In order to attend proceedings at the Chamber of Criminal Cases, no pass is required, because its courtrooms are not subject to the security regime applicable to the Cabinet of Ministers building. The entrance to the Chamber of Criminal Cases is from the Riga Regional Court, located at 34 Brivibas Boulevard.

The Supreme Court follows a principle of openness in its judicial proceedings. The proceedings are open to the public, unless provided otherwise by the law.

Media reporters may request single entry passes to the Supreme Court by calling the Division of Communication at 67020396. Accreditation cards to enter the Cabinet of Ministers building, issued by the Communications Department of the State Chancery, may be used as well.
