On May 3, 28 attorneys gave oath to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Andris Gulans. They swore to be loyal to the State of Latvia, to follow the laws of the country honestly and with confidence, to show respect to the courts and the state power, in their professional activities neither to write nor say anything which could harm the country, society, family and morals, to fulfill honestly the duties of an attorney, to protect the interests of their authorizing persons or the persons whose matters they have undertaken being aware that they are amenable to the law for their activities.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court stressed that by giving the oath the attorneys become a part of the judicial power and the judgment about the activities of each of them, their attitude towards the client and the court, their understanding of ethical and moral principles, will be the judgment of the society about the judicial system in general. The Chairman wished that this day in the life of the young people is not just a formal event, but a step in the way of their professional growth and a purposeful step in the professional career, and that the oath read by each of them is followed in their everyday activities.
The oath of the attorney was given by assistants to the attorneys Kristaps Andersons, Raivis Anspuks, Armands Baguckis, Janis Berovskis, Raimonds Briedis, Haralds Kalis, Salvis Kozlovs, Sabine Krastina, Vigo Krastins, Edgars Lesinskis, Inese Lielpinka, Dace Maurina, Agnese Svike, Ieva Tillere-Tilnere, Hardija Vaivade, Armands Zeps, lawyers of the law offices Agnese Garda, Ginta Losberga, Lauris Rasnacs, as well as the associate professor of the Baltic International Academy, Doctor of Law Vladimirs Terehovics, the board chairman of the law company SIA „B&S partneri” Janis Moors, the judge of the Latvian First Arbitration Court Katarina Sniedze, manager of the law department of SIA „MT Partneri” Raivis Tauriņš, the lawyer of AS „Lateko Banka” Kaspars Novicans, the lawyer of SIA „Livland” Kristine Ozola, the board member of SIA „Buvinvest” Daina Purva, and the lawyers having individual practice Carlijs Smits un Ingus Strautmanis.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court accepted also the oath of the bailiff Edgars Mihailovs. By the order of the Minister of Justice Edgars Mihailovs was appointed in the position of a bailiff in the 47th circuit of the Riga Regional Court.
