DELEGATION OF REPRESENTATIVES OF JUSTICE SYSTEM FROM CROATIA GETS ACQUAINTED WITH USE OF TECHNOLOGIES IN WORK OF THE SUPREME COURT

On March 26, representatives of justice system of Croatia – Chairs of courts, judges and representatives of the Ministry of Justice visited the Supreme Court to exchange experience and to get acquainted with work of the Supreme Court.
Results of individual project “Modernisation of courts in Latvia” performed within framework of Latvian-Swiss cooperation programme were presented during the visit. Ivars Bickovics, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court acquainted Croatian delegation with structure and functions of the Supreme Court, in their turn, Ervins Kuskis, the Chair of the Chamber of Criminal Cases, the judge Anita Polakova and Elina Majore, the Head of the Chancery of the Supreme Court, shared their experience on use of videoconferences and audio recording of court hearings, when adjudicating cases.
In 2013, the Ministry of Justice in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the United Kingdom commenced implementation of Twinning project “Strengtheningthe efficiencyof the judiciaryin the Republic of Croatia”. Within framework of this project the Croatian delegation got acquainted with experience of work of Latvian courts.
