From 18 to 20 January within the framework of the project "Supreme Courts as guarantee for effectiveness of judicial systems" the Head of the Administration Sandra Lapina, Head of the Division of Document Administration Janis Supe, Press secretary of the Division of Communication Baiba Kataja, Scientific adviser to the Division of Case-law and Research Aleksandrs Potaicuks and adviser on EU law issues Solvita Harbacevica participate in experience exchange visit to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

Within three days visit a broad educational program would be provided for the delegation of the Supreme Court and colleagues from Supreme Courts of Lithuania, Hungary and Spain. Purpose of the visit is to learn how organization of work and management of the European Court of Justice can help judges to examine cases better and faster, as well as to understand how the good practice of the European Court of Justice could be adopted by national Supreme Courts.

During the visit, representatives of the judiciary will in person watch the hearing; will take part in a number of roundtable discussions, as well as will meet with the employees of the European Court of Justice. Individual meetings with employees of the Department of Research of the Court, Chancery, Communication Division, library, as well as judges' assistants will be held.

The main event will be a round table discussion on the project’s research areas, with the participation of the President of the European Court of Justice Koen Lenaerts. There will also be a separate meeting with Latvian judges of the European Court of Justice - Egils Levits, Ingrida Labucka and Inga Reine.
