At the 12th sports games of the Ministry of Justice and judicial power, the team of the Supreme Court showed the best results in the team competition “The song for my generation”. In this signing competition with the performance of the song “Eternal Milky Way above the Head”, the team received cheering of the audience and the 5th place. The tem of the Supreme Court got the 9th place in frisby game, in other events – volley-ball, street ball, car-pulling and relay the results were not so good, however, in total, the team of the Supreme Court took the 16th place among twenty nine teams. In individual events, prizes were awarded to Kristaps Eglite, the son of the secretary of the Senate Chancery Anda Eglite, in the children’s competitions, and Krisjanis Dzalbe, the son of the senator Peteris Dzalbe for the 2nd place in long jump from a fixed start.
The team of the Supreme Court participates in the sports games of the Ministry of Justice and judicial power for the third time. The results gradually improve: in the first year the court was last but one, in the second – the nineteenth. Although the goal set last year – to be within the first ten teams – was not achieved, the 22 participants of the team of the Supreme Court returned cheery and joyful. The goal to be within the first ten remains for the next year! The captain of the team was the senator Peteris Dzalbe, the coordinator – the assistant to the senator Dace Rozite. In the street ball game, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Andris Gulans also joined the team on the field.
This year, the sports games of the Ministry of Justice and judicial power organized by the Ministry of Justice took place on August 3 – 5 in the recreation complex “Silmaci” in the Launkalne rural district. The first place was taken by the team “Stripaino reiss” of the Administration of places of imprisonment, the 2nd place – the team “TaimAuts”of the Court Administration, the 3rd place – by the team “Sveika saule” of the State Probation Service.
