Tomorrow, on November 23, at 9.00, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Andris Guļāns is convening the Plenary Session of the Supreme Court.
The report of Ivars Bičkovičs on the work accomplished during the term of office in the position of the Chairman of the Chamber of Criminal Cases, and elections of the Chairman of the Chamber of Criminal Cases make up the agenda.
Ivars Bičkovičs was elected in the position of the Chairman of the Chamber of Criminal Cases in 1996, repeatedly elected in 2002.
Under Article 44, part 2, of the Law on Judiciary, chairmen of the departments and chambers of the Senate are elected by the Plenary Session of the Supreme Court. Article 44, part 3, states that the term of office of the chairmen of the departments and chambers is five years.
