On Thursday, October 14, Anita Zikmane, Head of the Division of Case-law and Research of the Supreme Court, participated in a meeting of the Research Working Group of the Judicial Network of the European Union and spoke about the work of the Supreme Court of Latvia in processing rulings for creation of case law archives.
It should be noted that the representative of the Supreme Administrative Court of Poland welcomed the available English version of the summary of Senate’s rulings.
The participants also got acquainted with the principles and goals of archiving the rulings of the Italian Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court of Belgium, and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Such exchange of experience allows to use the best experience and the most technologically advanced solutions available for the development of databases.
The Research Working Group also discussed future cooperation in the development of joint research projects. The work on the scope of application of the European Charter of Fundamental Rights, data protection and anonymization issues is planned in the near future.
The Judicial Network of the European Union has been operating since 2017.
