On July 17, the new Prosecutor General Juris Stukans paid a visit to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Aigars Strupiss to discuss topical issues of the judicial system, which should be addressed as a matter of priority in the cooperation between courts and prosecutor's offices.

During the meeting, such issues as the methods for ensuring uniform case law, improvement of training of judges and prosecutors, as well as development and efficiency of criminal law and criminal procedure were discussed.

Aigars Strupiss and Juris Stukans mutually confirmed their readiness to cooperate in these areas.
