On May 4, in honour of the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Latvia, the highest officials of the judiciary – the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Aigars Strupiss and the President of the Constitutional Court Sanita Osipova, as well as the chairs of Supreme Court Departments Veronika Krumina, Anita Polakova, Normunds Salenieks, and judges of the Constitutional Court Arturs Kucs and Anita Rodina laid flowers at the Freedom Monument.
Due to the restrictions imposed in the result of Covid-19, not all of the state’s highest officials visited the Freedom Monument at the same time, but did so individually or in small groups. The Chief Justice and judges of the Supreme Court and the President and judges of the Constitutional Court did so simultaneously, thus acknowledging the unity of the judiciary in ensuring the rule of law in the State of Latvia.
The Supreme Court congratulates all the inhabitants of Latvia on the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Latvia!
