The Supreme Court has involved in the research project “Securing Europe through Counter-Terrorism: Impact, Legitimacy and Effectiveness” of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission. Within project framework, on the 5th of September, in Riga, meeting of working team of the project will take place in premises of the Supreme Court to present and evaluate result of the first two work stages.

Reports on paradigms of impact, legitimacy and efficiency of counter-terrorism events in legal, sociological, assignment and democratic aspect will be read by reporters Mathias Vermeulen (Centre for Irish and European Security), Erika Downing (Cork Institute of Technology), Rozemarijn van der Hilst (Peace Research Institute Oslo), as well as project manager, professor dr. Fiona de Londras (University of Durham). Each report will be followed by discussions.

Lecturers of higher educational institutions, doctoral students, young researchers, whose research interest concords with project subject, are invited to participate in this seminar to express their opinion and questions about reports in discussions.
