Judge’s office in Jurmala court house is transferred from the Land Registry office to the district court
1 September, 2015
The Council for the Judiciary supported proposal on transfer of on judge’s office from Land Registry office of Riga district court to Riga district court. Therefore, as from 1 October, there will be 29 judges in Riga district court, and 14 judges in its Land Registry office.
The Ministry of Justice considers such division of judges’ offices necessary, in order to increase number of judges working in Jurmala. The Ministry informs that after reorganisation of Jurmala court and its annexing to the Riga district court, number of cases pending increased in Jurmala and work load of judges in Riga district court due to insufficient number of judges; however, having annexed Land Registry office of Jurmala court to Land Registry office of Riga district court, load of judges of Land Registry offices has been equalised.
The Council for the Judiciary adopted the decision at the sitting of 31 August. See information about all issues reviewed at the sitting here
