The Latvian Law Institute invites everyone interested to attend guest lecture "Blockchain Regulation and Smart Contracts" by Frank Emmert, Professor of Indiana University (USA), former Dean of the Law Faculty of Concordia International University in Estonia.
The lecture will be held on April 21 in the Riga Latvian Society House, starting at 10.00 am. Language – English. Free entrance.

About Frank Emmert
Frank Emmert is a professor of law at Indiana University McKinney School of Law and executive director of the Centre for International and Comparative Law there. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Mr. Emmert is an author of countless publications on international business and trade law, international investment law, European Union law and the rule of law and its development. The professor's monograph on international business transactions, which has already had its second edition (International Business Transactions: Text, Cases, and Materials, 2n ed., Carolina Academic Press), is especially noteworthy.
The professor presents reports at international conferences, as well as advises corporate clients, non-governmental and governmental organizations on international trade and investment law issues. He has paid particular attention to blockchain regulation, as well as smart contracts and smart dispute resolution. He is the founder and head of the International Smart Mediation and Arbitration Institute in Indianapolis, USA. Within the Baltic context, he is known as a lecturer and dean at Concordia International University in Estonia.
About the organizers of the event
The Latvian Institute of Law organizes the event as part of its guest lecture program of foreign academics with the support of the Supreme Court, the Latvian Sworn Advocates Association, the Riga Latvian Society, the Jurista Vārds magazine, the Competition Council, the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia, the European Union Law Association and several law firms.
