The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court participates in events dedicated to state holidays; gratitude is expressed to ex-judge

Ivars Bickovics, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, participated in festive events dedicated to the Day of Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia on the 4^th of May. Together with other officials – the President Andris Berzins,

the Speaker of the Saeima (the Parliament) Solvita Aboltina and the Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis – the Chief Justice laid flowers to the Monument of Freedom.

The Supreme Court with amends received an announcement that in these public holidays the state award – the Cross of Recognition of the Third Class is given to Georgijs Kuznecovs, the long-term judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Latvia. The ex-judge couldn’t participate in award handing ceremony on the 4^th of May due health problems; however, the award will be delivered to him personally.
